ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic SHEQ Manager to lead our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality function within our Auckland-based Facilities Management contract. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving SHEQ performance, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across diverse operational environments.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will:
  • Provide strategic direction and expert advice on SHEQ matters to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Lead and mentor a team of SHEQ Business Partners and operational leaders, enhancing capability and embedding best practices
  • Oversee incident investigations, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve SHEQ systems and plans
  • Represent Ventia in client engagements, demonstrating credibility and thought leadership in SHEQ matters

ABOUT YOU
You are a confident and experienced SHEQ professional with a proven track record in high-risk industries such as infrastructure, construction, or facilities management. Your leadership style is collaborative and influential, enabling you to build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous improvement.

Key qualifications and attributes:
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand SHEQ legislation and its practical application
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior SHEQ management role
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead dispersed teams and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operational support
