We’re seeking an experienced Site Manager with Carpentry qualifications and an LBP license to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to deliver multiple new build projects, including multi-unit developments.
Your leadership of multi-trade teams and experience as the first point of contact on-site will be key to driving project success. You’ll bring a strong understanding of design drawings and construction programmes, along with a proactive approach to Health & Safety.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage day-to-day site operations, including coordination of trades and subcontractors
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager on programme, site control, H&S, and QA
- Ensure construction works are delivered on time and meet contract obligations
- Oversee project documentation, site controls, and programme tracking
- Order materials strategically to meet site requirements
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers effectively
- Maintain high standards of Quality Assurance
- Plan ahead for long-lead material orders
Requirements:
- Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and qualified carpenter
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in new builds, including 3 years in multi-unit developments
- Proven leadership of trade teams and on-site coordination
- Strong technical knowledge of NZ Building Code and ability to interpret design drawings and MS Project programmes
- Skilled in material take-offs, prenail structure installation, and reviewing shop drawings
- Minimum 3 years as the primary on-site contact, with strong stakeholder engagement
- Confident in leading toolbox meetings and managing Health & Safety requirements
- Full driver’s license
