Te Haeata/The Opportunity

Are you passionate about shaping workplace culture and building capability that truly makes a difference?

As our new Strategic Organisational Development Partner, you'll support the design of strategies and frameworks and deliver a range of organisational development programmes, which relate to Inclusion and Diversity, Employee Experience, Leadership Development, Cultural Capability, and Culture. You'll be the go-to for organisational development, working closely with our people leaders and leadership teams to turn insights into action. You'll provide subject matter expertise for the Ministry's employee survey programme, provide strategic advice, and help shape the future of work through innovative, evidence-based solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a high-impact role—where your work will directly support a justice system that better serves all New Zealanders.

You will:

  • Support the design of strategies and frameworks across culture, inclusion, leadership, and employee experience.
  • Deliver organisational development programmes that drive meaningful change and align with the Ministry's strategic goals.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and PX teams.
  • Apply data-driven insights and evaluation to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.

  • Extensive experience as a senior organisational development practitioner.
  • Expertise across multiple culture and capability domains, including leadership development, inclusion and diversity, and cultural capability.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver programmes with clear intervention logic and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong partnership and influencing skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori with a commitment to culturally affirming practices.
