Job Description

The key focus of this role is to:

  • Design and lead the school's Strength & Conditioning (S&C) programmes.
  • Manage student athlete load, pre-hab, and re-hab programming.
  • Facilitate S&C sessions in collaboration with coaches and Sports Managers.
  • Oversee gym operations, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Provide support and personalised programmes for students.
  • Collaborate with the Gym Supervisor to run exercise classes and manage space usage.
  • Support the “Raising a Young Athlete” and LEAP programmes alongside the Director of Sport.
  • Coordinate key events including Athletics, Cross Country, Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquathon, and Distance Squad.
  • Support parent engagement and deliver clear communication on code logistics.
  • Manage logistics for uniforms, scheduling, travel, and accommodation.
  • Foster strong links with community clubs and sporting organisations.
  • Represent the school at relevant College Sport and RSO meetings.
  • Lead communication with students, parents, and committees to support sporting success.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain quality coaches across sporting codes.
  • Deliver coach education opportunities and facilitate best-practice frameworks.
  • Oversee budget management and equipment purchasing across allocated codes.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and ensure alignment with school branding and policies.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are ideally after an applicant with:

  • A tertiary qualification in health, fitness, or sport-related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in S&C coaching and gym operations.
  • A sound understanding of youth wellbeing, sports psychology, and nutrition.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating sports events and managing sport administration functions.

You’ll have:

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of sports codes.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office and web-based fixture platforms.
