Job Description
The key focus of this role is to:
- Design and lead the school's Strength & Conditioning (S&C) programmes.
- Manage student athlete load, pre-hab, and re-hab programming.
- Facilitate S&C sessions in collaboration with coaches and Sports Managers.
- Oversee gym operations, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Provide support and personalised programmes for students.
- Collaborate with the Gym Supervisor to run exercise classes and manage space usage.
- Support the “Raising a Young Athlete” and LEAP programmes alongside the Director of Sport.
- Coordinate key events including Athletics, Cross Country, Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquathon, and Distance Squad.
- Support parent engagement and deliver clear communication on code logistics.
- Manage logistics for uniforms, scheduling, travel, and accommodation.
- Foster strong links with community clubs and sporting organisations.
- Represent the school at relevant College Sport and RSO meetings.
- Lead communication with students, parents, and committees to support sporting success.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain quality coaches across sporting codes.
- Deliver coach education opportunities and facilitate best-practice frameworks.
- Oversee budget management and equipment purchasing across allocated codes.
- Maintain accurate reporting and ensure alignment with school branding and policies.
Desired Skills and Experience
We are ideally after an applicant with:
- A tertiary qualification in health, fitness, or sport-related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in S&C coaching and gym operations.
- A sound understanding of youth wellbeing, sports psychology, and nutrition.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating sports events and managing sport administration functions.
You’ll have:
- Familiarity with a wide variety of sports codes.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office and web-based fixture platforms.
