He kōrero mōu | About You

Someone who is energetic, positive, confident, has respect for others, with an empathetic manner and is keen to make a difference in the lives of our clients/tenants. Ideally, you will have had experience supporting homeless people and a good understanding of culturally appropriate delivery of social services, including kaupapa Māori services.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

This role will give you the opportunity to apply the housing first philosophy in practice and work with the most vulnerable people in the community to provide access to safe, affordable accommodation and link them to community resources. Key to this role is empowering people with skills and knowledge that will improve their chances of obtaining suitable accommodation, maintaining their tenancies and achieving their long-term goals.

What you will need to have:

• Te Reo Māori capabilities.

• Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori.

• Relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Social Services and/or Mental Health and Addictions Support.

• Ability to support and motivate people to achieve their goals.

• Practical life skills and knowledge to connect people with community support resources and whānau/family/family of choice.

• Ability to work a rotating roster, including nightshifts and weekends.

All applicants must have New Zealand Residency, a full and clean driver's licence and a clean police record.
