At Mackenzie District Council, we work together as a team to deliver the best outcomes for our district. We are crafting new ways of working together, and each one of us has an essential role in making our district the best place to live, work, play and visit.
This could be the first step on a journey that sees you living and working in this iconic part of New Zealand. People travel from all parts of New Zealand and the world to experience our backyard with its geography dominated by the iconic Aoraki/Mount Cook, and Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki provide a fantastic opportunity to escape the urban sprawl.
About the Role
Mackenzie Tourism, part of Team Mack, is the regional tourism organisation (RTO) responsible for marketing and destination stewardship activities to shape a visitor economy that delivers positive outcomes for our people and place.
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and relationship-driven person to join our small team. The role is fast-paced and varied – no two days will be the same.
This role has a heavy trade and stakeholder component so the ideal candidate will be a natural ‘people person’ with a flair for building and nurturing relationships and demonstrated experience in working with travel trade. The role is responsible for driving and delivering our trade programme which includes preparing presentations, attending trade events, coordinating sales calls and trade famils and, most importantly, completing thorough follow-ups, responding to enquiries and facilitating connections between trade and Mackenzie tourism operators.
In addition to trade, this role also has a consumer focus and is responsible for delivering our day-to-day marketing activities including developing content for our website and social channels, database and asset management, media famil coordination, and general administration duties for the team. The role will have relationships with a variety of stakeholders including our tourism operators, Tourism New Zealand, airports, airlines and our RTO network.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant, fast-paced industry and turn your passion for the Mackenzie Region and travel into a rewarding career.
