About the Role
As a Transport & Accommodation Coordinator, you will provide effective coordination with the Renal Transport Service, National Travel Assistance (NTA), and District Vehicle Fleet Services. This role will be based in Whangarei, working 34 hours per week on a rostered basis including some weekend work.
Tasks will include:
- Coordination of daily transport for renal patients to and from the three regional Renal Units
- Coordination of the District's transport fleet maintenance and repairs
- Support and maintain driver inductions and education programs
- Prepare and manage staff rosters, leave and additional shifts
- Administration for travel and accommodation in accordance with the NTA and District policies
This role will give you an interesting and wide variety of work to keep you engaged and motivated. You will be working with a supportive, dynamic tightknit team of Transport and Accommodation.
Our tightknit team based in Whangārei work closely together to provide seamless transport and accommodation services for our clients throughout Te Tai Tokerau Northland.

About you
We are looking for a self-motivated, innovative administrator, with previous coordination, logistics, or customer service experience. You must be able to be flexible and actively participate in meeting the deadlines and service expectations.
- An empathetic approach to helping people in real times of need, while working within prescribed policies
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing, with patients from a wide range of backgrounds and ethnicities, all levels of staff and community agencies and to develop relevant networks
- Computer skills with the confidence and ability to expand on knowledge within various systems
- The ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
A relevant qualification is preferred, or significant experience in a similar role.
