Join IHC and make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you'll lead and nurture a team of dedicated volunteers, creating meaningful one-to-one friendships and skill-based learning opportunities.
You'll be at the heart of the community—recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers while building strong connections with local groups and organisations. This is a social, people-focused role that involves presenting to community groups, organising events, and fostering inclusive spaces.
You'll ensure the Volunteer Programme runs smoothly, delivering a quality service that enhances the lives of people with intellectual disabilities while reflecting IHC's philosophy and cultural values.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
- Experience working with or supervising volunteers, with strong community involvement.
- Understanding of people with intellectual disabilities and a commitment to their wellbeing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills to build community partnerships.
- Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi and cultural diversity, plus a full NZ Driver's Licence.
