About the Role

The Taranaki Foot Protection Service (FPS) has an exciting vacancy for a Diabetes Podiatrist. This varied and dynamic role supports service users across the Taranaki district, focusing on reducing avoidable amputations and unplanned admissions for those with High-risk Diabetes foot health; and increasing accessibility and equity across the rohe.

As the Advanced Clinician in Podiatry, you will provide clinical leadership for the podiatry and foot protection services, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the Taranaki Foot Protection Service. With a strong focus on equity, improved foot health outcomes, system performance, and clinical quality, you will lead sector-wide initiatives, apply evidence-based clinical practice, and build strong relationships across the diabetes workforce. Working collaboratively with a network of health providers committed to improving health outcomes and equity for people living with diabetes and their whānau.


About the Service

The FPS are driven to provide high-standard Podiatry, education and support for the communities we work in. The FPS connects patients and whānau with multiple providers and works as an essential part of the Diabetes Integrated Team, who oversee a progressive model of care spanning Primary, Secondary, Iwi and Community; MDT meetings and clinics bringing specialists together for improved patient outcomes.


About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
  • Be registered with the New Zealand Podiatry Board and have a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Demonstrate previous leadership experience with minimum 6 years clinical experience including management of diabetic population and clinical leadership.
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
  • Hold a current full NZ drivers licence.
