We are looking for an Adviser, Governance to join our Governance and Executive Services team in the Office of the Board and Chief Executive. This is a new fixed term position through to May 2026, based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
The indicative salary range for this role is $78,875 - $92,794 plus 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work with Commissioners and Senior Leaders across the organisation who are responsible for making decisions that affect the lives of all New Zealanders.
Drawing on your governance expertise, you will ensure the smooth operation of governance functions that support the Commerce Commission Board, Committees, Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team.
You will ensure connections are made and there is clear visibility across the system through your effective business partnering and relationship management skills. You will be respected across the Commission for your ability to provide advice and assurance to these processes. You'll also use your project management experience to lead an established programme of enterprise projects to fruition.
He korero mou | About you
You'll have a solid understanding of how governance systems, frameworks, functions and processes work. You'll be excellent at capturing Board level conversations in high quality minutes and coordinating the flow between the Board and governance committees to ensure governance expectations are met. With excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, you will influence in a supportive and collaborative manner.
You will have project management experience and understanding of project management methodologies in order to deliver key strategic projects. You will be highly organised and confident is working with stakeholders across a variety of projects.
You'll be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to think, write and communicate clearly and concisely with exceptionally high attention to detail. Known for your ability to join the dots you'll be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and strategic nous.
