About the Role
The Cardiac Investigation Unit at Te Toka Tumai (Auckland City Hospital) would like to announce a vacancy for a permanent position for a qualified Medical Imaging Technologist.
You will be working as a part of the Cardiology multidisciplinary team in the busy catheter labs at Auckland Hospital and Starship Hospitals, using state of the art equipment. We have the only paediatric biplane catheter lab in NZ (3D imaging) and a hybrid theatre shared by Cardiology, Radiology, and Cardiac Theatres.
You will be responsible for the use of intravascular imaging during coronary intervention, using one of the highest numbers in Australasia of the intravascular ultrasound system. You will also take part in TAVI implantations where CT images are used to display data during the procedure.
The role is permanent Monday to Friday with an on-call component which usually consists of one weekday and one in approximately every five weekends.
As part of the cardiology multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with a team of cardiac nurses, cardiac physiologists and a number of Interventional Cardiologists.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The position is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital. Cardiac Investigation Unit is small but busy team of radiographers who work within a large Cardiology department. The labs provide for a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures across the adult and paediatric services. MIT’s are an integral part of CIU, imparting knowledge and expertise to each procedure.

About you
For this role you will:
- Have some experience in Cardiac Catheter Labs but this is not essential as we will be provided with full training
- Have current registration in New Zealand with the MRTB
- Will be required to be a member of a recognised CPD program.
- Have had post qualification employment for several years.
