Our Opportunity:
Reporting to the Cloud & Infrastructure Platforms Manager, the Cloud Solution Architect will operate at both a strategic and technical level—translating enterprise architecture into actionable designs and providing expert guidance across solution implementation. This role ensures cloud platforms are robust, aligned to architectural standards, and deliver business value across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate enterprise architecture into detailed cloud solution designs, collaborating with architecture, engineering, and delivery teams.
- Provide end-to-end technical oversight to ensure alignment between design intent and implementation outcomes.
- Champion initiatives to optimise cloud spend and improve financial visibility and accountability.
- Develop and maintain reusable cloud architecture patterns and infrastructure standards.
- Ensure cloud solutions are compliant, secure, scalable, and aligned with Mercury's technology governance frameworks.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to participate in our on-call roster, this is to ensure organisational support for incidents and problems outside of normal business hours.
We are looking for:
- Significant experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of architecture frameworks, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering practices.
- Proven ability to optimise cloud costs using Financial Operations methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with architectural governance, security compliance, and technology lifecycle management.
