Christchurch City Libraries have a national and international reputation for their well-connected successful network of libraries that contribute to the City of Christchurch.
We currently have a vacancy for a team leader within our Lyttelton and Banks Peninsula team.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
This role will be located at Lyttelton Library and is also responsible for the operation of the other Banks Peninsula libraries. Banks Peninsula Libraries include: Lyttelton, Diamond Harbour, Akaroa and Little River. Lyttelton Library is open six days a week and offers library programmes and council services to its community. Akaroa Community and School Library is used by both the Akaroa community and the Akaroa Area School in a joint management arrangement. Little River Library is a combined council service centre, NZ Post centre and library, and Diamond Harbour Library is very much part of the local community, co-located with the Diamond Harbour Community Hall.
You will be key in providing direction, empowering and motivating your team to provide quality programmes and services and in managing the day-to-day operations of the library and its services.

We are looking for a visionary focused leader who can work collaboratively across teams and who is committed to supporting our Treaty of Waitangi obligations.

- Hours of work - This is a full-time rostered role, including late shifts and weekend work at Lyttelton Library.
- Position - Permanent
- Location - This position is primarily based at Lyttelton Library, with travel required across the Banks Peninsula, including Akaroa, Little River, and Diamond Harbour to support the teams based there.

Library Hours Overview:
- Lyttelton: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10am-1pm
- Akaroa: Mon-Fri 10am-4:30pm, Sat 10am-1pm
- Little River: Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm (closed 12:30-1:30pm), Sat 10am-2pm
- Diamond Harbour: Mon, Tue, Fri 2-6pm; Wed, Thu 10am-2pm; Sat 10am-1pm
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $115,466 to $128,295 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
