Starting salary: $ 96,307 to $ 113,303 + Superannuation

The role | Te tūnga
These fixed term roles will support a Stats NZ project to develop and deliver several updated macroeconomic measures, including collecting and reporting on a monthly Consumers Price Index from the start of 2027.
In this role, you will:
- Collect information needs and data requirements from teams across Stats NZ
- Negotiate requirements between data suppliers and Stats NZ, with a focus on feasibility, viability, desirability, legality, and ethics
- Oversee, govern, capture, and validate information about data and data quality
- Develop a supply and acquisition road map for Stats NZ's monthly CPI and data related needs
- Coordinate data acquisition as part of the development of the monthly CPI
- Work closely with Stats NZ's legal, privacy and data security teams
What you bring | Nōu te rourou
To be successful in this role you will need:
- In-depth understanding of data and data quality
- 3-5 years' experience in data sourcing or contract management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience turning technical data requirements into contracts
- The ability to adapt and deal with ambiguity
- Attention to detail
- Experience building and maintaining strong stakeholder/customer relationships
- Demonstrated customer centricity.
- Demonstrated advocacy for, or support of, diversity and inclusion.
- Familiarity or commitment to developing understanding of Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo, Te Ao Māori
