- Be involved in the upkeep and improvement of our community facilities
- Warm, friendly, supportive team environment
- Outstanding benefits including flexible work options
About the role
You'll be part of our Assets & Facilities Management team, working closely with colleagues, contractors, and facility users to deliver positive outcomes and contribute to the long-term sustainability of our city's facilities. This role is varied and practical - one day you might be scheduling urgent maintenance and liaising with a contractor, the next you'll be reviewing building condition reports or helping to scope upgrades. As a Facilities Coordinator, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring Hutt City Council's community facilities are safe, well maintained, and operating smoothly.
- You'll coordinate maintenance schedules and respond to repairs to keep facilities functional and safe.
- You'll support renewal planning and assist with small-scale projects to extend the life of our assets.
- You'll work directly with contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance and service standards are met.
- You'll monitor compliance, health and safety, and contribute to longer-term planning that improves our facilities for the future.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong organisation and coordination skills, ideally with some experience in facilities, property, or asset management.
- Is confident working with contractors, maintenance schedules, and compliance tasks.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Suite and systems.
- Holds a clean Full NZ Driver Licence.
- A background in facilities administration or experience in property or building maintenance would be highly advantageous.
About Us
Every day, we provide services, facilities and programmes for our residents and the many people who visit or work here. In everything we do, we're led by our values of manaakitanga (showing care), te hononga (being connected) and kia kaha (having courage) and our partnership with Mana Whenua. Our mahi ensures neighbourhoods are more connected, healthy and resilient.
We recognise rewarding you is not only about your pay, so we've outlined some of the great benefits available to you:
- Paid birthday leave - take a day off to celebrate YOU!
- Wellbeing leave and additional wellbeing perks
- Flexible working options
- Free pool entry and discounted gym memberships
This is more than just a coordination role - it's your opportunity to be directly involved in the upkeep and improvement of the facilities that bring our community together every day.
