Job Description
Mō tēnei tūranga | About the role
Whakarongorau Aotearoa is seeking a Finance Manager to join our dynamic Auckland-based Finance team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the Finance Manager is instrumental in providing expert financial support to our Technology & IT function, ensuring robust reporting, analysis, and planning, whilst managing the Finance transactional teams and ensuring the integrity of our financial accounting processes.
Ngā haepapa matua | Key responsibilities
- Shared responsibility with Head of Finance Business Partnering for an accurate and timely month end process including reporting
- Business Partnering with the Chief Information Officer and wider Technology & IT support team
- Over-seeing the Financial Performance of the Technology & IT department, including ownership of Monthly Management Accounts and detailed analysis
- Continual communication and support to the Technology & IT team to ensure robust budgets and rolling forecasts are maintained
- Supporting the Technology & IT team with expert Financial advice
- Management of the Transactional Finance team, consisting of 2 x Finance Administrators and 1 x Financial Accountant, covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting transactions / reconciliations and support for the Payroll Manager
- Responsible for delivery of finance initiatives in support of the Whakarongorau Aotearoa FY28 Strategy
- Overall ownership of the accounting and reporting for a Joint Venture partnership
- Support the CFO with managing 3 x office properties with ad hoc property matters and financial analysis
- Support the wider Finance Team on ad hoc tasks and projects (EG: annual Insurance)

Qualifications

Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki | Qualifications and experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a large organisation
- Chartered Accountant qualification or similar
- Sound knowledge of Accounting Standards advantageous
- Proven background in Management Accounting including Planning
- Experience of Business Partnering with Non-Finance Budget holders
- Experience of managing teams

- Effective communication skills, with ability to support Non-Finance Budget holders
- Leadership skills
