THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a highly strategic and experience Head of Finance to join our team in Dunedin on a full-time basis.
The Head of Finance will support the CFO in overseeing the Group’s financial operations and will take charge of implementing and managing all finance-related activities. This includes statutory reporting, audit, tax, treasury, internal controls, and ESG reporting & strategy. The Head of Finance is a key partner to the CFO, providing technical expertise and leadership to support both operational and strategic decision-making.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSBILITIES
- Financial Leadership & Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in compliance with IFRS and NZX requirements. Oversee external audits, statutory obligations, and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Support ESG reporting and integrate sustainability metrics into financial planning.
- Tax, Treasury & Compliance: Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance (including corporate tax, GST, FBT), ensure robust transfer pricing practices, and manage relationships with tax advisors. Lead treasury operations including cash flow, FX risk management, and covenant compliance. Maintain a strong internal control environment aligned with corporate governance standards.
- Strategic Insight & Commercial Support: Partner with the CFO to drive commercial performance, capital allocation, and business strategy. Provide financial insights to support growth, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.
- ESG Reporting & Strategy: Lead the Group’s ESG reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with emerging standards
- Team & System Leadership: Lead and develop high-performing finance teams while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Oversee financial systems, streamline processes, and promote automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
TO BE A GREAT MATCH FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- CA/CPA qualified with 10+ years’ experience in senior finance roles.
- Proven technical expertise in IFRS, audit, treasury, and tax compliance.
- Experience with listed companies and multi-jurisdictional reporting environments.
- A background in engineering, manufacturing or construction viewed favourably.
- Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and risk management.
- A proven history of leading by example, providing clear expectations and direction.
- To be a strong positive relationship manager who can successfully navigate their way through difficult situations.
- The ability to travel as required for the role.
