Fisheries Deckhand- Experienced. Based in Nelson, we have multiple fishing vessels l and our vessels operate in the Southern Ocean , Bluff and the east and west coasts of the South Island .
A number of full-time positions have become available for Deck Hands to serve our on our medium-sized fishing vessels for a 12-month period.
Normal deckhand duties also include setting and hauling of the fishing pots , lines and gear Handling and processing the catch and unloading the catch, cleaning duties.
This position would particularly suit a deckhand who would also have some practical marine engineering skills and would be interested in progressing to an marine engineering role .
Able to work in and live in confined onboard conditions .
Experience of at least 12 months as a fisheries deckhand is essential
If you have NZ Deckhand Qualifications or equivalent that would be a definite advantage.
You will be out at sea for up to 10 days.
Mid- Late September 2025.
The workplace and living areas are confined.
We operate on a strictly no violence, no abuse, and no aggressive behavior basis.
Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications - depending on fishing results, remuneration is based on the traditional % of catch share system or 29.60/ hr."
Must be physically strong and fit, as there is some heavy lifting involved.
You must agree to both our random drug testing program and a limited criminal police clearance process.
