Mō te tūranga | About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Statutory Land Management Advisor within the Kāhui Kaupapa Atawhai team. This role will be with our close-knit Dunedin based team.

Please note that while Dunedin is our preferred location, we encourage suitable applicants from other NZ locations to apply as well.

The position will be focused on:

  • Providing quality and timely advice to internal and external customers.
  • Building and maintaining processes associated with the control, status and management of public conservation land.
  • Processing statutory consent applications in relation to land under the Public Works Act and Reserves Act.

This role is crucial to develop relationships aligning conservation goals with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, so we are looking for someone who can be an effective communicator to a wide range of audiences.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of land related legislation, including Cadastral Survey Act, Land Transfer Act and Conservation Act.
  • Sound communication, relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • An excellent writer, with superior grammatical and editorial proficiency.
  • Can competently synthesise complex subject matter into concise and clear advice.
  • Highly organised with a proven ability to plan, schedule and deliver to set timeframes while balancing competing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in land management and/or relevant work experience an advantage.

The salary range for this position is $68535 to $86423 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
