We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the wellbeing of our people while driving continuous improvement in our health, safety, and risk practices.
About the Role
Reporting to the Safety & Risk Manager, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, support, and coaching across the site. You’ll work closely with operational leaders, Health & Safety Representatives, and employees to embed safe systems of work and foster a proactive safety culture.
This full-time, 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover role offers you the opportunity to make a real impact on our safety culture, with the scope to influence and drive change across a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of health, safety, and risk management systems and initiatives.
- Provide coaching, training, and guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on H&S practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
- Analyse safety data and provide insights to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Actively engage with Health & Safety Representatives and promote worker participation.
- Contribute to wellbeing, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
About You:
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification
- Practical experience in a health & safety role within manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of NZ Health & Safety at Work legislation and best practice
- Ability to influence, coach, and build strong relationships at all levels of the business
- Proactive, solutions-focused, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and motivate others
