X Fruit Limited are currenty looking to hire a Horticulture Technicians for our business in Hastings, HawkesBay.
General
Collection of soil samples, arrange testing and plan fertilizer program in consultation with the owners/orchard Managers.
To assist in the development of new planting, fertilising, and harvesting methods to optimise land usage for production targets e.g. opposing female vs. strip male.
Compliance with health and safety procedures
Technical
To undertake pest disease monitoring to identify harmful micro-organisms (insects, parasites, fungi, bacteria, weeds) and assist in the development of control methods
To ensure all staff adhere to PSA and hygiene protocols throughout seasonal activities.
To examine young plants and plant materials prior to planting/grafting, to ensure they are free pests/diseases that may jeopardise vine-health.
Pest and Disease Monitoring
Plant Husbandry, Irrigation and Fertiliser plans.
Compliance
Monitor and audit control procedures to ensure compliance with Global GAP & GRASP standards.
Preparing the documentation requiring GAP and Grasp compliance
Data Collection
Collect and collate bud/fruit counts to inform thinning decisions and minimise quality issues Follows sound processes to obtain accurate counts.
Collect and test fruit samples for quality, size and purity to inform harvest decisions

Relevant Experience of 2 years
or diploma level qualification in Agriculture/science/Horticulture/Biotechnology/management/business/commerce
Relevant On job training will be provided.
The pay rate will be 26 to 30 dollars per hour. Minimum guaranteed 30 hours , full-time and permanent duration.
