We're looking for energetic and detail-oriented Hostel Housekeepers to join our Brownston Hostel team in Wanaka for the summer season. If you take pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces and enjoy being part of a values-driven crew, this could be the perfect fit.
As a Hostel Housekeeper, you'll play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the hostel. From daily room turnovers to deep cleans and communal area upkeep, you'll help ensure every guest has an exceptional experience. You'll also support basic maintenance tasks and uphold health, safety, and security procedures. We have part time and casual positions available.
Please note: Applicants must have the current right to work in New Zealand and priority will be given to those available to work through to May 2026.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily cleaning of rooms, communal areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Preparing rooms for check-in and refreshing them as needed.
- Managing rubbish and recycling systems.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment and reporting maintenance issues.
- Assisting with stock ordering and liaising with contractors when required.
What You'll Bring
- Housekeeping experience is essential.
- Excellent communication and a tidy, professional appearance.
- Adaptable, proactive, and solution-focused.
- Preferred: First aid/fire warden training, experience working unsupervised or in small teams.
