Job Description
The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
This is a great opportunity and chance to learn more about Human Resources, where you will spend a couple of weeks working within a complex organisation such as ours, gaining practical HR knowledge and Contract Admin experience.
The role is located at 49 Symonds Street and while training will be on site, you will have the flexibility of working off site and therefore you will need to have your own laptop or desktop and phone access.
The HR Administrator role supports HR Services through data entry of student employment agreements such as Graduate Teaching Agreements, Teaching Assistant Agreements and casual employment contracts and completing the end to end process, monitoring non-advertised recruitment through the Smart Recruiters system, and supporting all staff through the on-boarding processes: following up where required and responding to enquires. Every year activity peaks at the beginning of each semester where there is a larger influx of student employment agreements. This is where your help is needed! This particular opportunity is to help provide admin support to the team for the 2025 Semester 2 peak. Based on availability and suitability there is also potential for ongoing work at the beginning of each semester going forward.
Important details:
- Start date 23 June till the end of November 2025
- Pay rate from $24 - $25.50 per hour depending on experience
- Hours per week - casual ad hoc hours depending on volumes
- 1 week full training
- Days of work will be during Monday to Friday, there could be opportunity to do extra hours to make the role full time if and when required.

About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
These roles reports will be reporting into the HR Services Team Leader and will be supporting 2 HR Administrators. You will be working alongside the wider HR Services team (HR Services Coordinators, HR-IT and Payroll), this team acts as the first point of contact for many HR related queries.
