About the Role
As our HVAC Technician, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Your hands-on expertise will directly support the comfort and safety of our guests and colleagues by keeping our climate control systems running efficiently.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you’ll take initiative in troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance, all while ensuring compliance with safety standards and hotel procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of HVAC systems
- Troubleshoot issues and respond to faults in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure all work complies with New Zealand HVAC codes and safety regulations
- Keep detailed maintenance records and update service logs
- Support fire protection and preventive maintenance programs as needed
- Assist with other general maintenance tasks when required
- Provide professional and guest-focused service while working in guest areas
What We’re Looking For
- A current EWRB practising licence (e.g. Electrical Service Technician)
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls
- A proactive, hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards
- Previous hotel or commercial building experience is a plus
