About your team / Ko te tima
Led by the Manager Data Operations, the Data Operations team includes one data architect, a data engineer, two data scientists, and four regulatory intelligence analysts. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the data assets to meet WorkSafe's data, insights and intelligence needs
The team is going through an exciting period of transformation as we work to adopt modern data operations ways of working - and explore ways of combining the varied disciplines within the team to create something greater than the sum of our parts.

About the role / O te turanga
In this role, you'll be responsible for gathering, assessing, and analysing information to support both strategic and tactical decision-making. Your work will help ensure that our regulatory efforts are focused, evidence-based, and aligned with the greatest areas of need.
What You'll Do/ Ko tou ake mahi
- Support the organisation's strategic priorities though the provision of useful and actionable strategic and tactical intelligence products using intelligence tradecraft, process and methodologies.
- Provide intelligence in a timely manner to enable people to do their work and make decisions.
- Routinely apply analytical techniques to the analysis of health and safety issues.
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external intelligence collection networks.
What You'll Bring / Ko nga pukenga ou
- Experience conducting analysis, ideally in an intelligence context.
- Experience collecting information from a range of internal and external sources.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands from a range of stakeholders.
- Previous experience with regulatory functions or law enforcement.
- A tertiary qualification or comparable relevant experience in intelligence.

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $81,587 to $106,892 and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $81,587 to $90,021. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional too/on top of your base salary.
