We have an exciting opportunity in our Digital Channels domain for an Intermediate Automation Tester - Web Applications to be part of the change in digital banking across New Zealand.
This tūranga is based at our BNZ Place Auckland office. The tūranga is hybrid with 3 days per week in office, and 2 days per week working from home.

What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Taking an initiative approach in thinking critically and laterally about test design, mitigating project risks through an appropriate test approach, and exploring the application to expose vulnerabilities beyond the business requirements.
- Working with BAs and developers to create automated checks using existing tools.
- Working with their agile team to develop a common understanding of the business requirements, and understanding underlying business intent, procedures and systems.
- Clearly communicating defects to the business and their agile team.
What projects / mahi (work) will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
Digital Channels builds and maintains BNZ’s Internet Banking Customer Channels. We are modernising our tech stack and are working to modularise our front end banking applications and move them to our target state of micro front ends.

What capabilities will you need in order to be successful in this tūranga?
- 2 - 5 Years practical experience in Experience in modern Quality Assurance and test automation practices in Agile environments.
- Provide QA expertise and drive best practices across the tīma.
- Previous use of version control systems.
- Experience in Web Application Testing tools such as React Testing Library, Jest, Playwright.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar and agile delivery practices.
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern cloud environments
- A growth and continuous improvement focused mindset.
- Analysis and Problem Solving.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
