Job Purpose
An exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join our growing team!
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that the customer needs are met, including existing customers with a current operational portfolio, a new customer requiring implementation and order management through the start of services, or a returning customer.
This role is a key focal point for assigned key account customers in the respective industry verticals for DP World.
We are open to applicants in both Auckland and Christchurch for this role.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible to build and foster relationships with key accounts and the DP World network
- Develop and build the sales and operational disciplines to establish a successful key accounts process that support the customer needs
- Plans and execute key account strategy, defining approach on value proposition & solutions
- Identify new opportunities increasing the footprint of business and solutions with the assigned customer base
- Regular structured review sessions with customers to improve our value proposition and increase innovation for the customer
- Effectively transitions new business into operations to ensure that customer requirements and the commitments of DP World are met
- Manage conflict with customer and act as an escalation point to resolve issues for the customer
- Participate in the design process providing solutions to operational challenges using process mapping and other techniques
- Establish standard operating procedures including IT and EDI Integration
- Support the training and education of staff and internal stakeholders centred around the needs of the customer and the solutions provided
- Establish and maintain monthly profitability and operational performance including volume monitoring and billing and pipeline management
- Proactive review of financial results, volume, and service performance reports and reacts appropriately to create efficiencies
- Accountable to adopt and apply new tools and processes that improve overall workflow
- Measure and report on any losses to the business, solution manage the reasons and offer solutions to the process
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- 10+ years experience in the Freight Forwarding or Logistics
- 3-5 years experience in Key Account Management
- Experience in operational project management on new implementations
- Excellent understanding of the freight forwarding and international trade sector
- Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work and solution issues independently
- Cargowise (Wise-Tech) experience and knowledge advantageous.
- Strong IT skills with practical experience in customer solutions
