Manager, Research and Analytics
Te turanga - The role
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that senior decision makers have the research and analysis they need to make sound decisions on monetary policy and the broader strategic initiatives of Te Putea Matua - Reserve Bank New Zealand. This will involve effectively leading a team of economists, managing a diverse range of policy research projects, maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring our research programme is focused on the questions that matter most for monetary policymakers.
In addition, as a member of the Directorate's management team, you will provide leadership and insights into policy relevant issues, contribute to debate and discussion at key Bank committees, and represent the Bank externally in international and domestic research and policy forums. You will also be responsible, with the wider management team, for the operational matters and policy outputs of the Economics Directorate.

You are passionate about the contribution you can make to New Zealand's economic prosperity and wellbeing. You have a deep understanding of monetary policy and the New Zealand economy, and the ability to identify the key questions that matter to a central bank. You have proven experience leading substantial research projects and delivering successful outcomes that improve policymaking.
You'll also bring:
- Extensive, broad-based experience in central banking and economic research.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the Reserve Bank.
- Proven ability to effectively manage a team of economists and to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to staff, including mentoring, coaching and strategic planning.
- A post-graduate degree in Economics, with a strong analytical background.
