About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, collaborative leader to join our City Delivery team as Partner Lead - a pivotal role representing Hutt City Council in the Te Awa Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (RiverLink) programme.
As a member of the Programme Leadership Team, you'll strengthen relationships with key partners (including Waka Kotahi, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Mana Whenua and others), ensuring Council priorities are reflected in decision-making and delivery. You'll champion cross-organisational collaboration and help drive successful integration across multiple city centre projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Represent Council in strategic governance and delivery forums, contributing to coordinated programme leadership
- Act as a key liaison across multiple partners, building trust and shared commitment
- Support the alignment and delivery of interconnected projects in the city centre, ensuring risks, resources and reporting are effectively managed
- Engage stakeholders, support change initiatives, and enhance the experience for teams and communities alike
- Monitor programme performance, manage risks, and support informed decision-making through robust reporting
About You
You're an experienced leader who thrives in complex partnership environments. You bring strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a clear sense of purpose to every conversation. With your collaborative approach and strong understanding of programme delivery, you're ready to help shape the future of our city.
We're looking for someone with:
- A relevant degree in Business, Project/Programme Management, or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience leading large or complex programmes
- Proven success working in multi-partner, political, or government settings
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Expertise in risk, financial and change management
- A deep understanding of working within Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles
