In this role you'll provide technical expertise, design, support, maintenance, and subject matter expertise for Mercury's Generation Site Platform Applications. As the Platform Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that Mercury's existing systems meet the expectations for availability and stability, while also designing and transitioning new systems to meet the same high standards. You will work closely with stakeholders to ensure platform operations meet / exceed expectations and advise on how to better utilise the application to help achieve business goals.
This is a unique opportunity that combines engineering and technology together where you will be exposed to a wide range of applications and technologies. We're looking for someone who is inquisitive, has a willingness to learn with a can-do attitude. We are invested in your growth and development, and you will be given support to learn our applications, helping you build your technical leadership skills.
Preference is for this role to be based in Rotorua or Hamilton, close to our Generation sites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting on site technology platforms that support the generation of electricity.
- Working with stakeholders to maintain and grow the platform capabilities whilst resolving issues expediently if they arise.
- Proactively drives issues through to their resolution, with a mindset for continuous improvement
- Manage and maintain the operational health and security of the platform.
- Travel to Mercury Generation Sites to expand and grow platform capabilities and stakeholder relationships.
We are looking for:
- Strong experience supporting enterprise business systems and platforms.
- Broad knowledge of application, network and infrastructure domains.
- Strong communication skills able to build rapport with a wide range of people.
Ideal candidate will have
- Exposure to industrial workplaces, First Aid certified.
- Experience with Security, CCTV or communication platforms
- Experience or Exposure to Technology Operations functions / process (incident management, risk management, disaster recovery planning …)
- Willingness to learn, due to the array of core technology concepts you will be exposed to the ideal candidate will be able to pickup new skills.
