Ngā kawenga | What You’ll Be Doing
- Building strong, mana-enhancing relationships with rangatahi and their whānau
- Designing and delivering learning programmes that are culturally rich and practically focused
- Supporting wellbeing through mātauranga Māori and pastoral care
- Collaborating with other services to wrap support around each young person
- Walking with rangatahi toward education, employment and personal growth
- Proven experience working with rangatahi (youth work, education, social work, mentoring or kaupapa Māori initiatives)
- Understanding of kaupapa Māori approaches to learning and development
- Ability to design creative, alternative education programmes
- Strong relationships across whānau, iwi, hapū and community networks
- A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Whānau Ora
- A relevant qualification (teaching, social work, youth development or similar)
- Te reo Māori and tikanga confidence or a strong desire to grow in this space
