Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Recreation Adviser to join the University Recreation Wellington team.
Catering to the needs of over 2,000 members per year, the unique and diverse Recreation Adviser role ensures members of the University community stay healthy, connected, and active.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensures recreation spaces are safe, welcoming, and accessible for the University community.
- Ensures all customer service processes and back-office systems are efficient and effective, regularly reviewing and adjusting with technology and staff changes.
- Contributes to and delivers the Sales and Engagement strategies, using the commercially minded, student-centred approach.
- Contributes to the maintaining and developing of databases and systems for University Recreation, ensuring best use of their functionality and challenging existing business processes as progress is made.
- Supports with planning, coordination, and delivery of University Recreation events and campus engagement and recruitment activities.
- Ensures core operational administration is completed with accuracy and professionalism. This includes daily banking, operational data, reporting, and stock management.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
Key requirements:
- Proven ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Physical Education, Recreation, or other related discipline.
- The ability to work on a rostered shift system.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft 365 programmes.
Additional desired criteria:
- Previous experience in fitness, recreation, or sports administration.
- Knowledge of the university, tertiary, and student environment.
- Experience coordinating and supervising recreational events.
- A current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with recreation systems and customer relationship management software.
