About the Role

The primary purpose of the role is to:

  • Provide insight – helping to draw strong linkages between our financial and operational metrics and required outcomes.
  • Improve nationally consistent regional business, budgeting, accounting and reporting processes to maximise functionality, automation and self-service capability.
  • Working with the District Finance Management teams and the national Financial Planning and Analysis function to prepare financial and non-financial performance reporting and insights, bottom-up budgets and financial forecasts for the Region.
  • Responsible for the Region's Payroll Variance Analysis.
  • Liaises with Finance Managers and works with national Reporting, Costing and Standards and the Finance Systems of Enablement team, to develop tools, methods, systems and processes to deliver greater analytical and financial decision-making capability.
  • Working with the National Reporting, Costing and Standards team to support the efficient collation of financial data across the regions and national functions, ensuring the alignment of other data (e.g., operational metrics, costing reports) to develop performance context to financial data and reporting.

About you

You'll bring a strong self-starter and problem solver with at least seven years in senior financial roles ideally within the public sector and health, along with strong analytical skills that enable you to lead and advise confidently on financial management.

You have a proven record in designing and streamlining financial management processes, as well as implementing self-service financial management systems that make information more accessible and efficient. You're skilled at providing strategic advice, guidance, coaching, and support to leaders, helping them make informed decisions.

With proficiency in tools such as MS Visio, Excel, Word, Power BI, and other data analysis applications, you're comfortable turning complex information into clear, actionable insights. You communicate with clarity and impact, both in writing and in person, influencing others, building trust, and developing strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

You hold a Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent membership of a professional accounting association.
