The Role
Asteron is on the lookout for a seasoned Risk & Compliance Manager to champion our enterprise-wide risk and compliance initiatives. This is a strategic role that partners closely with business units to embed a culture of integrity, accountability, and sound decision-making. You’ll provide tailored advice, lead training programs, and ensure our operations align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Working alongside the Head of Risk and the Head of Regulatory & Compliance, you’ll be instrumental in shaping Asteron’s risk posture and driving continuous improvement across our frameworks and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain Asteron’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policies, and standards.
- Identify, assess, monitor, and report on strategic, operational, financial, and emerging risks.
- Collaborate with business units to embed risk and compliance into everyday decision-making.
- Develop and enhance risk policies, procedures, and tools to support effective governance.
- Deliver insightful risk reporting to the Leadership Team and Risk Committees.
- Oversee incident management, including root cause analysis and remediation planning.
- Provide expert advice and oversight on regulatory compliance, breaches, and obligations.
- Support business units in meeting legal and regulatory requirements through control development and implementation.
- Execute control testing plans and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.
- Conduct risk assessments for business changes and initiatives.
- Promote a strong risk culture through training, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance obligations in the life insurance sector, including COFI, IPSA, and the Contracts of Insurance Act.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in risk and compliance, ideally within financial services or insurance.
- Strong grasp of enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure.
- Proficiency in risk management systems and reporting tools.
