We’re uplifting our risk maturity and capability across BNZ over key risk areas and we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and engaged individual to join the tīma (team) on a 12-month fixed term as a Risk and Security Specialist.
This role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington.

We sat down with our Senior Manager, Technology Project Risk and she let us know the following about the role.
What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Develop and/or provide risk and control reporting to management for risk and/or compliance committees and leadership meetings.
- Provide support in risk management activities across the team as required. This includes the day-to-day management and oversight of risk activities such as quality assurance, controls assurance, risk profile uplift, compliance management, third party assurance, process modelling and business continuity management.
- Lead risk management discussions and reporting with senior business leaders, stakeholders in risk committees and/or steering committees.
- Identify trends and insights in data for management reporting and provide independent risk views to senior business leaders and steering committee.

As part of the Technology Risk, we pride ourselves in having an inclusive, a supportive tīma culture that provides a safe environment where all opinions are valued, and one can try out new things and learn from others in the tīma. We use collaborative tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, Sentient, GRACE) to tautoko our flexible hybrid working model.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
Success for our tīma and this role is to deliver quality assessments on time, see the risk maturity for Technology tīma improve from quarter to quarter through the Risk Practices Management Framework maturity score and when your stakeholders see you as a trusted risk partner they can rely on.
