Are you a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the machinery of government and a passion for public service? Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission is seeking a highly capable Senior Advisor to join our Ministerial and Executive Services team.
About the Role
As Senior Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing official information, including OIA and Privacy Act requests, parliamentary questions, and ministerial correspondence. You will support the Commission's leadership team and Ministers' offices, ensuring our obligations under relevant legislation are met with professionalism and integrity.
You will lead and contribute to select committee processes, proactive release of information, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role also involves mentoring junior staff, managing relationships with key stakeholders including the Office of the Ombudsman, and supporting governance functions across the Commission.

- Has significant experience in managing complex OIA and parliamentary processes.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Is confident working with senior leaders, Ministers' offices, and external agencies.
- Has strong political awareness, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Is committed to public service values, diversity, and inclusion.
- Has knowledge of te ao Maori, tikanga and kawa, or a willingness to develop this understanding.

Remuneration
The full range for the band is $107,146 to 143,313. We typically look to appoint to role between $107,146 to $130,507, depending on skills and experience.
