Mo tenei turanga - about the role
The Senior Advisor Payroll is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing including running the pay run reporting and filing. The team includes payroll professionals with a range of experience. You will act as the first point of call to deal with complicated issues and will contribute to uplifting skill within the team. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organisation including managers, HR, and workplace relations to provide high quality advise on complex and confidential payroll issues.
This is a fixed term or secondment position until 23 December 2026.

Bring your excellent focus and attention to detail to our payroll team. You will work well to tight deadlines and have a proven proactive approach. Your ability to clearly communicate information and build strong relationships across the organisation will be key to success in this position.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- Strong experience providing in house end to end payroll to a high standard
- Sound understanding of applicable NZ payroll legislation and holidays act
- Intermediate skills in Excel
- Experience using payroll systems
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Salary range $81,524 - $90,583 (pro rata), actual salary dependent on skills and experience.
