New Zealand Government
Wellington, Wellington

The Civil Aviation Authority and the Aviation Security Service offer distinctively different career opportunities and embrace diverse talent. All jobs at the Authority contribute to ensuring safe and secure skies to help New Zealand fly.

The Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory arm of our organisation and the Aviation Security Service is the nationwide provider for aviation security.

By joining us, you will be part of a team where meaningful work, collaboration and innovation come together to help keep New Zealand's skies safe and secure.

At the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA), we are constantly evolving to meet the demands of a changing environment and the aviation industry.

Recent legislative changes, along with an organisational realignment, have opened exciting new opportunities across the organisation. These changes are part of a broader effort to better position our teams for the future by enabling us to be effective in everything we do.

As we step confidently into our role as a modern regulator, we are embracing intelligence-led, risk-based approaches that help us make a real difference for our people and the communities we serve - with a strong value-for-money ethos. We're also committed to enabling aviation participants to support economic growth in New Zealand's aviation sector. Based in Wellington as a Senior Recruitment Advisor, you will be at the centre of how we attract, select, and grow the talented people who make that possible.

About the Role

You will partner directly with hiring leaders across CAA to lead end-to-end recruitment for some of our most business-critical roles

You will:

  • Lead strategic and high-impact recruitment activity across the business

  • Coach and guide people leaders to build recruitment capability

  • Design and deliver inclusive, values-aligned sourcing strategies

  • Build pipelines for specialist and hard-to-fill roles

  • Use insights, data, and systems to continuously improve outcomes

  • Champion a positive candidate experience that reflects our values

  • Contribute to people-focused projects that shape our wider workforce strategy

This is a role where your recruitment expertise will be valued, and your ideas will drive long-lasting outcomes across the organisation. Please note: this is a six month fixed term contract.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings not just technical recruitment know-how, but also the confidence, curiosity, and credibility to be a true advisor and partner.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in inhouse end-to-end recruitment (including senior-level hiring)

  • A strong understanding of best-practice, inclusive recruitment

  • The ability to influence and coach people leaders with confidence

  • Experience using recruitment systems and data to drive decisions

  • A good understanding of NZ employment legislation related to employment

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • A proactive, people-first mindset and a passion for great hiring

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a highly respected government organisation with a vital public safety mission

  • Work in an inclusive, and purpose-driven team

  • Gain exposure to a diverse, nationwide workforce

  • Contribute to shaping the talent landscape of the aviation sector

The salary band for this role starts from $98,689 and is negotiable based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

Please apply online with your CV and cover letter, outlining your relevant experience and motivation for the role.

If you have any queries, please refer to the position description or contact the Recruitment Team on [email protected].

Applications close on Sunday 15/06/2025.
