The Opportunity | Te āheinga

Te Kaunihera-ā-rohe o Ngāmotu is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Asset Data Analyst to join our Delivery - Sustainability and Infrastructure team. This is a fixed-term role until May 2027, created to cover the secondment of the current incumbent to the ERP Replacement Project.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for driving the analysis, interpretation, and governance of asset-related data to support smarter decision-making, optimise asset performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop advanced analytics and reporting frameworks that enhance asset lifecycle management. Your expertise will help shape data strategies, improve data quality, and unlock opportunities for innovation and efficiency across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa matua

Data Analysis & Insights

Analyse asset datasets to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Provide actional insights to improve asset performance, reliability and lifecycle costing
Prepare data and extracts for asset insurance and valuations in accordance with related policies

Data Management & Governance

Ensure data integrity, accuracy and consistency across asset systems
Identify data improvement initiatives and implement programmes to improve information and decision making.
Collaborate with IT and operational asset teams to maintain and enhance asset data systems (e.g. EAM, GIS)
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to relevant legislation

Reporting & Communication

Translate technical data into clear, business-relevant insights for non-technical audiences
Work with Data and GIS teams to deliver enterprise asset related reporting
Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements

Leadership & Collaboration

Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance and IT teams
Lead or contribute to asset management projects and strategic initiatives

Essential Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. PowerBI, SQL, Python, ESRI suite)
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a complex environment
Relevant engineering or science qualification
5+ years of experience in asset data analysis or similar role
Experience with enterprise asset management systems
Familiarity with infrastructure or utilities sectors is highly desirable.
Advanced knowledge of databases for analysis and reporting, manipulating data for decision making
Experience using ESRI GIS systems and assessing spatial data.
