Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity:
Our Procurement Team is going from strength to strength as we focused on all thing's electricity generation. We have a great role available to continue to support our vision of delivering world class procurement here at Mercury.
In this strategically created role, you will be responsible for reviewing and developing business procurement processes, embedding these within the business, ensuring process collaboration and driving continuous improvement across procurement. You'll play a critical role as the tendering expert to procuring goods and services in line with our category strategy, while identifying opportunities to partner with the supplier market. You will have the opportunity to be involved with strategic sourcing, managing mid-level supplier relationships and performance, and coordinating contract renewals with critical suppliers.
This role has the flexibility to be based at any of our North Island sites/offices, including Hamilton, Waikato River sites and Rotorua (excluding our Auckland office).
This position is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and support implementation of procurement processes and procedures within the Generation Team
- Continuous improvement of procurement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their Procurement demands and take the lead with activities
- Work closely with the supplier market (in line with our category strategy and supplier base), considering price, quality, and delivery timelines.
Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:
- Relevant procurement experience in an industrial environment in the same or similar role, e.g. Sourcing Specialist, Procurement Business Partner
- Proven experience in end-to-end procurement including planning, tendering, and contract management
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, and procurement trends
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
