We strive toward world class service delivery in all aspects of our community-based services. We achieve this, in part by the use of high quality and professionally built IT systems and tools for our employees to use. The Support & Customer Services area is responsible for the provision of proactive and robust first and second level customer support and services (covering enterprise applications, hardware, software and peripherals) to all users of these Council systems.

Each team is responsible for the implementation of best practice - using methodologies and appropriate policies and procedures across Service Desk and support activities.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Support Analyst to join an organisation which will offer you career progression, stability and variety. You will be committed to growing your skills while providing the best possible service to the people of Christchurch - creatively, innovatively and effectively.

This role will include providing advice, assistance and problem solving in an area that strives for continual service improvement.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

  • You will have extensive Service Desk experience in supporting hardware & software in a large organisation, ideally within a local government setting.
  • You will possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills, as well as a high level of knowledge of key Council systems, hardware and business process and be comfortable providing training to new team members as well as providing ongoing mentoring to existing team members.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills and experience will enable you to provide leadership support on behalf of the Service Desk for any project activity coupled with your willingness to continue learning in a rapidly evolving environment.

What's in it for you? He aha ngā hua ki a koe?

Working for the Christchurch City Council allows you to contribute directly to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of residents and visitors. You will also benefit from:

  • Access to training programmes, workshops, and development opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements - WFH, adjustable start and finish times, option to purchase extra leave.
  • Collaboration - exposure to wider areas of the organisation
  • Benefits - a variety of benefits for Council staff from health schemes to retail discounts.

Through collaboration, innovation, and a strong commitment to community, the council provides an environment where one's skills and passions can shine, making it an exceptional choice for those seeking purpose and impact in their career.

If you are passionate about helping customers, building a world class Service Desk, enjoy working with a range of technologies and are looking for a role which will offer you challenges in a professional environment, then joining our team will be a great next step for you.
