In this vibrant and dynamic role, you will work closely with the Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Deli, ensuring that our valued customers receive top-tier products and a delightful shopping experience.
The ideal candidate will take charge of essential tasks, including staff scheduling, food preparation, inventory management, and team supervision, while also playing a pivotal role in creating a positive and collaborative work environment, ensuring that every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute to our mission of excellence.
Key responsibilities include
- Support the management and daily operations of the Deli department
- Ensure high-quality food production and presentation standards
- Supervise and train deli staff, fostering a teamwork-oriented environment
- Manage inventory and stock levels, ensuring optimal freshness and compliance
- Assist with scheduling and rostering to meet peak demands
- Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of operations
- Engage with customers, ensuring their needs are met and building lasting relationships
- Utilise computer systems for inventory management and reporting
- Have proven experience in a similar role within the fresh foods industry
- Demonstrate strong production knowledge related to deli items.
- Be highly organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively multitasking
- Possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
- Be computer literate and comfortable using software systems to manage operations, including SAP
- Exhibit outstanding customer service skills and a keen understanding of customer needs.
- Be adaptable and calm under pressure.
