We are looking for an exceptional leader to join our Radiology Department. Key aspects of this role include:
- Provide strategic leadership to the Radiology Department
- Effective and efficient operational management, implementation of strategies, objectives and plans
- Foster harmonious interpersonal relationships within the service, facilitating a team approach to achieving service objectives by ensuring effective communication between individuals, the team and the service management
- Manage and be accountable for the management of the Radiology department budget

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Radiology Department provides 24/7 imaging services across the Te Tai Tokerau region. The main department is located at Whangarei Hospital, supported by satellite units in Dargaville, the Bay of Islands, and Kaitaia. These facilities collectively offer a full range of imaging services, including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and mammography.
With over 100 staff and more than 120,000 examinations performed annually, this busy department plays a vital role in supporting both acute and planned care throughout the district.

About you
This position requires excellent relationship building, communication and collaboration skills, and an understanding of change management and conflict resolution. You will have demonstrable delivery of effective healthcare services as a senior manager in a multifaceted healthcare environment including staff management, financial management and change management.
- Qualification as MRT or similar
- Relevant clinical experience at a management level
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, with an emphasis on listening skills as an important component of communication
- An understanding of role-modelling and a philosophy of quality
- Current and full New Zealand Driver’s licence
An appropriate clinical qualification and project management experience is desired
