Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
The Service Transition Manager is responsible for the transition of a set of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) aligned services from Digital platforms, programmes or external vendor into the existing in-house Digital Operations team or external service providers.
This role has a focus on stakeholder engagement developing a transition plan, executing this plan and the migration of the services into an appropriate service model, while ensuring existing service and operational levels are met and customer service disruptions are minimised during this transition and beyond.
There will be a focus on driving continuous service improvement to design for efficiencies and value for money and you will define the overall service transition and transformation strategy based on NZTA requirements and ensuring that the transition is planned and carries out in a timely manner and within budget. Rollout will be managed, and you will lead service transition activities for new or changed IT services, ensuring that they meet operational requirements before go-live. There will be strong collaboration with Digital platform and product teams to develop and implement best practices and protect services as they are migrated.

What you will bring to the role
- Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and experience working with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or similar
- Demonstrated experience in managing infrastructure/operational transitions and service management
- Experience with building insource and outsource delivery models.
- Experience working with vendor / outsource companies.
- Experience in a senior/consultant chapter specific technical role
- Experience with financial forecast and budgeting.
- Deep understanding of risk management.
- Sound understanding of technology support costs and delivery models.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
Qualifications
- A Technology degree or equivalent work experience
- ITIL certification
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices
