It’s an important job maintaining our most precious assets - water, health, and the environment – and here’s your chance to be involved.
Our water teams play a critical role in ensuring a continual supply of quality water with minimal interruptions to communities. No two days will be the same as you head out across the Wellington region undertaking a mix of planned and reactive works where you'll:
- Install and repair water connections on all sizes of mains
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with trade practice
- Flush and charge water mains
- Work together with various teams and contractors achieve results

About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Experience in the water industry or the civil/construction industry, with the ability to use hand tools, small plant and machinery
- The ability to use technology (i.e. ipad or tablet) to record information
- An understanding and commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- A full, clean driver’s licence (minimum class 1) is a must
- A reliable, hard-working attitude
- The flexibility to work on a roster than includes shift work/standby

Wellington Water works in partnership with Fulton Hogan (in an Alliance) to improve three water services across the Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa Regions.
