About the Role
Vulcan is seeking a high-performing Site Leader to drive growth and operational excellence across our Wellington branch. Reporting to the New Zealand Leader, this is a key leadership position responsible for all B2B sales and distribution activities on site.
You will be accountable for delivering sustainable branch performance through exceptional customer service, commercial decision-making, and strong operational oversight. With full P&L and balance sheet responsibility, you’ll maximise profitability through strategic customer selection, inventory availability, and disciplined cost and margin management. Leading and empowering your team in line with Vulcan’s values, you will foster a high-performance, continuous-improvement culture that delivers long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day branch operations and operational performance
- Set, monitor, and deliver sales and operational targets
- Drive customer growth, revenue, and margin performance through strong territory management
- Lead and support sales training and capability development
- Develop and implement branch improvement plans and contribute to S&OP
- Support external sales, estimating, and customer service teams as required
- Manage full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with other Vulcan sites to strengthen customer relationships
- Ensure full compliance with Vulcan’s health & safety standards
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in distribution operations and B2B sales
- Proven experience managing P&L and balance sheets
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting revenue and profit targets
- Customer-centric with the ability to grow and manage key relationships
- Engaging, trustworthy leader who inspires teams and drives accountability
- Continuous-improvement mindset and problem-solving skills
- Strong communicator with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
