Job Description


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Specialist - Compliance Officer to join our team in Waihi, New Zealand. Reporting to the Process Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for ensuring our organization's adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, while promoting a culture of compliance throughout the company.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate potential compliance violations and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance standards are met across the organization.
  • Manage and maintain compliance-related documentation and records.
  • Assist the maintenance team in creating, planning and managing maintenance tasks using the Pronto CMMS.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory bodies during audits or examinations.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of the compliance program.
  • Acting as a liaison between varying internal and external parties across the processing areas.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in compliance or a related field, preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards relevant to the industry.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, internal auditing, and policy development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
