The Role / Person
At Timaru District Council, the safety of our people and our community always comes first. We're looking for a dedicated STMS and Compliance Officer to help us maintain high standards across our parks and green spaces while ensuring every job is carried out with safety and compliance at its core.
The successful candidate will manage traffic safely and efficiently at work sites, plan, implement and provide assurance for Traffic Management Plans in accordance with regulatory requirements. Regular site inspections will be conducted to monitor traffic management practices and make necessary adjustments, while coordination with stakeholders will address any traffic-related issues promptly.
Health and Safety are central to our operations. This position supports the Parks Operations team by overseeing the administration and recording of H&S documentation, facilitating timely follow-up actions, and ensuring clear communication of outcomes. Handling enquiries related to H&S and contributing to a safe environment for staff and the public are key aspects of the role.
A current STMS A/B Practicing or equivalent qualification, along with a strong understanding of compliance processes and a commitment to safety, are essential for success in this role. If this sounds like you, apply today!
