12 months of relevant experience is preferred or a relevant level 3 certificate/qualification. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently to reach goals.
What does the role involve?
- Directing and coordinating the workers and handling of any issues
- Reporting directly to the site manager daily
- Ensuring work is completed in a timely and effective manner to ensure company production goals are met.
- Completion and filing of worksheets.
- Guiding the workers with operational involvement as required during harvest periods.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring a high standard of practice for all workers.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are reviewed regularly to ensure staff safety.
- Ensuring knowledge is kept up to date, implementing and making suggestions for new practices and techniques
- Lead the team and instruct the workers to do the tasks as expected of them.
- Maintaining a safe working environment and practices for all workers

- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time permanent position based in the wider Bay of Plenty region requiring the successful applicant to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Pay rate starts at $25.00 per hour with the ability to increase to a maximum of $28.00 per hour depending on experience. The worksites for Taj Horticulture Limited are based in and around the Bay of Plenty region and as the role will require some travel, the successful applicant will have their own transport.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
