About the role:

Our Talent and Careers Team are busy supporting council to be fit for the future, with the right talent to serve our district as it grows - Selwyn is the fastest growing district in New Zealand!

As a Talent and Careers Specialist, you'll manage end-to-end recruitment process across our business, working closely with hiring managers to understand their needs to deliver practical, effective recruitment solutions that help attract and secure great people.

  • Job briefs, advertising, screening, interviewing and employment documentation
  • Provide advice on salaries and benefits
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience at every stage
  • Play a key role in coaching, influencing, and embedding best practice recruitment and talent initiatives
  • Recruitment administration and database management
  • Get involved with special projects and recruitment initiatives

This is a full-time permanent position, but we are flexible to offer 32-40hours per week for the right candidate.

About you:

You will be passionate people person, with excellent communication, great initiative and the confidence to ask good questions. You'll bring with you a minimum of 3 years of end-to-end recruitment experience with a solid understanding of best practice and good employment processes.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and engage with a variety of personalities across all levels
  • Willingness to take ownership and challenge appropriately
  • Sound organisation and administration skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys sharing ideas and supporting others
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion
